In gcc-3.3.4, gcc/configure contains:
   -nfp | --nfp | --nf):
     # Obsolete; use --without-fp.
     with_fp=no ;;

Using --without_fp would also result in "with_fp=no", but a quick grep
reveals that with_fp isn't used anywhere (except m68k in
gcc/config.gcc). Am I missing something there?

config-ml.in contains:
arm-*-*)
   if [ x"$enable_fpu" = xno ]
   then
     old_multidirs=${multidirs}
     multidirs=""
     for x in ${old_multidirs}; do
       case "${x}" in
         *fpu*) : ;;
         *) multidirs="${multidirs} ${x}" ;;
       esac
     done
   fi

which would imply that --disable-fpu might be useful?

Not sure if I'm just adding to the noise here...
