bootstrap gcc errors

Hello,

last time I tried the instructions at
http://www.sthoward.com/CrossGCC/FAQ-4.html#ss4.2 for
arm-elf, I came very close to succeeding (see gcc bug
10957 for where I failed). You shouldn't need glibc to
accomplish this.
