Newlib?

That's just because I am not using newlib, and the newlib
checks were cluttering up the script; it seemed sensible to
remove them until I had it working right.  Feel free to
add them back in, following Bill's original crossgcc script
as an example.   Building a toolchain with newlib
is a lot easier than building one with glibc.
