base link address 0x8000

Guys,
is there some way I can change the base address to which arm-elf-ld links my
code?
I seems to always get 0x8000.
mind you, I'm trying to do this with passing a switch through arm-elf-gcc
(and not performing a make in 2 stages, and passing switches directly to
arm-elf-ld).
