Hola Carlos,
The FAQ you're using is outdated. Please see
http://crossgcc.billgatliff.com/
Building newer gcc's seems to require parts of glibc;
see the notes at http://www.kegel.com/xgcc3/
nobody uses gcc earlier than 2.95 anymore, so you probably don't
want to try 2.8.1...

Subject: Problem building cross-gcc for powerpc-linux
Hi,
I am following the instructions in
http://www.objsw.com/CrossGCC/FAQ-4.html to configure
and build a cross compiler with
host=i386-linux
target=powerpc-linux
I configure it correctly, manage to build binutils but
I fail to build gcc. Using gcc 2.95.2 I get this
error:
../../gcc-2.95.2/gcc/libgcc2.c:41: stdlib.h: No existe
el fichero o el directorio (file or directory doesn't
exist)
../../gcc-2.95.2/gcc/libgcc2.c:42: unistd.h: No existe
el fichero o el directorio (file or directory doesn't
exist)
make[3]: *** [libgcc2.a] Error 1
make[3]: Saliendo directorio
`/home/cruzado/build-gcc/gcc'
And using gcc 2.8.1 I get this one:
In file included from ../gcc-2.8.1/bc-emit.c:982:
../gcc-2.8.1/bc-typecd.def: In function
`bc_emit_instruction':
../gcc-2.8.1/bc-typecd.def:17: `SFtype' is promoted to
`double' when passed through `...'
../gcc-2.8.1/bc-typecd.def:17: (so you should pass
`double' not `SFtype' to `va_arg')
make: *** [bc-emit.o] Error 1
My host computer is running Red Hat 7.3 with kernel
2.4.18.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you.
