building libgloss

Hi,

 I have built a mips-gcc compiler with newlib sources. Now i have changed 
 the implementations of sbrk() function in libgloss.. wht are the steps
 to rebuild libgloss alone or should i rebuild the entire newlib along 
 with gcc. please advise. 

 Also, advise on modifying the sbrk() function for a particular target.
