Sounds like you aren't using a cross-gcc, or not one for ARM
anyway. Typically one GCC only targets one type of machine
(which you can find with "gcc -dumpmachine"). If that gcc-3
you are using is, as I suspect, indeed a native gcc, you'll
need to build one specifically for your target.
