I'm using g++ for Hitachi sh and h8 but....

I agree with you about c++ on h8-300, even if there could be advantages to use 
c++ in device drivers description and their proliferations.
But on sh-2 c++ is very good, because the board with sh-2 is powerfull 
enought.
