I think that the place to start on a FAQ is with the questions.

I have script(s) which work to build binutils/gcc/glibc in my environment.
I can point you to a number of other scripts or documents which claim to 
do the same.  I don't know that another is particularly interesting.  

A FAQ which attempts to answers questions which show up on this mailing
list would be very useful.
