This has worked OK, but only with version 2.2.3, in 2.2.2
I had to edit the LD,AS and AR equates within the configuration
script file itself.

Now the build gets up to the stage:

make[1]: *** No rule to make target `/gnu/build-glibc/soversions.i', 
needed by `/gnu/build-glibc/Versions.all'.  Stop.

Do I need to use Makeconfig somehow?
