Difference between target powerpc-eabi and powerpc-linux

Hi,

What is difference between target powerpc-eabi and powerpc-linux?

I have to port a linux to a board with PowerPC (FADS832).
Now I would like to build a crosscompiler (gcc-2.95.3, host/build =
linux-pc).
Later I would like to use this compiler to compile:
Embedded PowerPC Linux Boot Project and linux kernel.

Which target should I chose (powerpc-eabi / powerpc-linux) when I build
crosscompiler?
Where can I find information about these targets?
