Why only Linux uses GCC to compile the source code. please help

The Linux kernel and GCC are tightly bound. GNU Extensions are
explicitly allowed in the Linux kernel. For example, see
http://netfilter.kernelnotes.org/unreliable-guides/kernel-hacking/conventions-gnu-extns.html
