cross compiler for mn10300

[xing xia]

folks,
 
I'm trying to build gcc3.0 on linux for MN10300, but
failed.
Here are the steps I followed:
1. build-binutils/configure --target=mn10300
make install
2. build-gcc/configure --target=mn10300
make install
 
I have a few questions as follows:
1. do I need to install newlib? If so, build it before
building gcc or after building gcc?
2. do I need to install glibc?
 
If anyone has experience building cross compiler for
mn10300, please email me.
