Some stupid mistake? Building powerpc-eabi on NT host.

Hi.

I have downloaded sources for binutils, gcc and newlib.
I have done

bash-2.03$ ../binutils-19990818/configure --target=powerpc-eabi --prefix=/ppc-eabi --with-newlib

Spits out a lot of info. Makefile created.

Then I do

bash-2.03$ make all install
Makefile:144: *** commands commence before first target.  Stop.

Huh?

Can someone help me out? I'm not a makefile wizard so I rally haven't bothered looking at what is wrong in it.
