gdb for powerpc-wrs-vxworks ?

Apparently gdb (4.18) can't build a powerpc-wrs-vxworks target.
Does anyone have patches to support the target or, worst case,
a suitable replacement ?  I can choose between 29k, 960, 68k,
or Sparc.
