.p2align question

   .p2align n is to align n bytes?Please tell me.

The "p2" in "p2align stands for "power of 2".

Thus .p2align 3 means align to an 8 byte boundary.
If you want to align to a byte boundary use .balign.

There is also .align, but whether it aligns to a power-of-2 or byte
boundary is target specific.
