Problems building gcc 2.8.1 for --target=sh-hms

Guys:

Near as I can tell, I've followed the instructions in FAQ 0.8.2 to the
letter, but I'm still getting an error when I build gcc 2.8.1 for the
Hitachi SH2.  I've applied the crossgcc-gcc-2.8.1 patch, and I've
successfully built and installed binutils 2.9.1.0.15.

The message goes something like this:

rtlanal.c:1162: undefined reference to 'optimize'
make: ***[genattrtab]*** Error 1

Any ideas?  Thanks!
