A question about DIFF

Hello,everyone!Recently,I want to build a DIFF file.But output result can't be re
 cognized by PATCH command.My usage is "diff -r -c ./gdb-4.17 ./gdb-4.17-1 >myp
 atch" and "patch -p1 <mypatch".How to correst it?Anyone can help me?Thanks.
