I sent this comment directly to John and not the list, but having seen the
comments on the list, I thought you all might like to know. The session start
for a dos mount on NFS should sync the time! at least it purports to do so.

In a previous company I had a network of mixed machines/oses  - Unix, Sco, Dos and 
windows. We had similar problems and some. Not only are date and time a problem,
group access rights, user rights and a few other things do not play ball.

I don't think you have a tool problem, but then again you might.
