GDB/M68K bug?

Hi,

I'm trying to add a remote backend to gdb 4.16 but ran into some
strange problem. If I do:

	file ...
	b main
	target ...
	run

everything is ok, but when I do:

	file ...
	target ...
	b main

gdb will dump core with a SEGV. It looks as if something is being called
recursively, but I can't find what. Here is some of the stack just before
the SEGV:

	#0 bi0501_xfer_mem (pt=50331720, pl=0xefbfd980 "NV", len=2, write=0, t
    =0xe8238 at remote-bi0501.c:348
#1 0x3ff24 in target_xfer_memory (memaddr=50331720, myaddr=0xefbfd980 "NV",

ad infinitum.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
