So I use can use it when making a submission, but I might still get
shot down for missing the nuance of a rule ?

If the output when using the config isn't quite perfect and people
aren't prepared to put up with it, sounds like there is sufficient
motivation to fix the config and the program that uses it.

For such important projects as gdb and binutils I would hope that an
option to do what we want would be accepted.
