Binutils causes abnormally large, non-working binaries since 2.43

Thanks for your input. I've uploaded packages built with both 2.42 and 
2.43 to a github repository here: https://github.com/bepaald/binutils_issue

I've also included the buildlogs and added a little description in the 
README. Thanks again for looking at this!
