Nor have I.  The only comment I'd make is that perhaps another option
is to not combine sframe sections for ld -r, so there wouldn't be
anything out of the ordinary for ld -r relocation processing.  That of
course would mean final linking must handle multiple .sframe sections
in a given object file.
