Posting CVE's to older binutils sources

Hi,

We are using binutils-2.36 for one of our toolchain.
However, there are no CVE fixes or important patches ported to the binutils-2.36 since 2 years.
We are porting and testing these fixes on binutils-2.36 on our sources.

Can you please let us know whether we can post those CVE's to binutils-2.36 upstream.
They can benefit wider community who are still using some of the older versions of binutils.
