Patch for version.texi?

Hi,

version.texi should be updated automatically 
(https://www.gnu.org/software/automake/manual/automake.html ).

I run `git clean -fX` and configured the build with 
--enable-maintainer-mode.
gprofng/doc/version.texi has been updated:
% git diff gprofng/doc/version.texi

My questions:
   Should I update gprofng/doc/version.texi now ?
   Should I update gprofng/doc/version.texi in [2.41] or the file will 
be updated automatically.
