[PATCH v3 00/12] libctf: various portability fixes and small bugfixes

One ChangeLog policy question: when dealing with ancient commits -- and
some of these date back to October last year! -- right now I've set the
date on the ChangeLog to be the date I first committed the change,
because that means I don't have to constantly re-edit the commit as I
rebase it. The downside is that this eventually leads to ChangeLog
entries appearing out of order.

No way to fix this seems entirely ideal -- what would people prefer?
