Does DT_GNU_UNIQUE perform anything not done by DF_1_NODELETE (-z nodelete)?

ld.so implementations supporting STB_GNU_UNIQUE semantics (afaik, glibc
is the only one) implicitly sets DF_1_NODELETE.
