2.30 tar.xz archive contains .rej files

 Would it help if the script or whatever you use for making a release 
tarball removed unwanted files beforehand or simply ignored them?  E.g. 
automake's `make dist' rule only picks up files it knows about or has 
been told to pick.

 Just an idea.
