How build gold linker?

It looks as though the code in binutils/configure around 2957 is
looking at your target "*-symbianelf" and deciding that it is not an
ELF target:

  yes|default)

    is_elf=no

      *-*-elf* | *-*-sysv4* | *-*-unixware* | *-*-eabi* | hppa*64*-*-hpux* \
      | *-*-linux* | *-*-gnu* | frv-*-uclinux* | *-*-irix5* | *-*-irix6* \
      | *-*-netbsd* | *-*-openbsd* | *-*-freebsd* | *-*-dragonfly* \
      | *-*-solaris2* | *-*-nto* | *-*-nacl*)

Try hacking your binutils/configure to add "*-symbianelf" to the list
above and see if that works for you.
