Many thanks for the suggestions - I agree with all of the above and have
tried to bring the documentation in line with all supported options on
ARC. A revised series is posted as:

There are 5 patches in the new series as I made most of the
documentation changes in an extra patch. The new series of patches
passes `make check` for ARC big- and little-endian for each patch in the
series.

I'm not able to apply patches myself as I don't have write access, and
my colleague who applied my previous patches is out of the office this
week, so when the patches are eventually approved, could someone apply
them for me please?
