Binutils build failure using mingw/msys bash

To whom it may concern,

I have been attempting to build binutils for a cross compiler on Windows 
10 using MinGW as my compiler and MSYS Bash as my shell. I have come 
across what would appear to be some sort of error in the build script, 
and I am curious if there is a workaround for this error, or if some 
sort of fix could be made. The following is an output log of my attempt 
to compile binutils:
