I timed it on a 7 years old 32-bit dual-core machine.  The total
times of "make check -j4" are

1. Before

66.36user 52.51system 1:42.94elapsed 115%CPU (0avgtext+0avgdata
93056maxresident)k

2. After

106.44user 54.61system 1:43.94elapsed 154%CPU (0avgtext+0avgdata
1080600maxresident)k

It is 1 more second.  I will move it to i386 directory.
