GNU Assembler - a surprise on VMS

This type of absolute symbol is defined by a VMS extension to ELF how to 
encode a demangler function in an object/image. The string before @ is 
the name of the function, the string after @ is the file name of the 
shareable image.

But I do not understand what kind of problem this imposes, here.
