anoncvs broken?

For some days I'm no longer able to check out some modules via the 
anoncvs access. I tried what is advertised on the web page 
(http://www.gnu.org/software/binutils/), that is:
cvs -z 9 -d :pserver:anoncvs@sourceware.org:/cvs/src login
{enter "anoncvs" as the password}
cvs -z 9 -d :pserver:anoncvs@sourceware.org:/cvs/src co binutils

The last command now results in a
cvs checkout: cannot open CVS/Entries for reading: No such file or directory
cvs [checkout aborted]: no repository

Does this work for anybody else?
