Ryan, your patches are being mangled before they get to
sourceware.org, presumably by your email client.  Please investigate
and fix.  On this patch I get

That's due to line wrapping.  Fixing the wrap leads to

Hunk #1 FAILED at 58.
patch: **** replacement text or line numbers mangled in hunk at line 28

That's due to leading whitespace being changed.  This patch wasn't too
hard to apply by hand, but it would be that much easier if you could
fix your email..

On a more technical note, there are other places in elf32.em that look
like they also should have this fix, add_sysroot for one.
