Yes.

Its basically for peace of mind.  Ie making sure that the port continues 
to work as expected as the binutils development continues.  It would 
also be worth your while investigating the current failures in the gas 
and ld testsuites for the microblaze port.  I suspect that they are 
caused by only one or two underlying problems.

The top level configure files are shared bewteen the gcc, gdb and 
binutils projects, so they should always be kept in sync, even if a 
particular target is not supported by a particular project.
