function to Swap byte orders for endianness compatibility!

Hi,
The  objdump program is not giving desired result for my ia64 target
because the host is a little endian and my target is a big endian
system.
So, is there a function already defined in the binutils to swap the
byte orders so that I can modify the contents of the objdump? If there
is, where possibly it can be..?
