Linking template instanciations in multiple translation units.

Sorry i forgot to mention some details in the previous post. I am using
GCC 4.0.1 at the moment on an amd64 NetBSD platform and an i386 NetBSD
platform. The version of ld is 2.16.1

I initially was going to send this to the GCC list but thought binutils
a more suitable place to ask this question. Please let me know if I am
wrong about this.
