porting binutils

Hi,

I have searched the web, but have not found a lot, about porting
binutils to a new target. What i actually want to do is create a cross
compiler for the new target so I need the gas and ld ported also. So, I
have downloaded the code, discovered (at least I think so) the files I
have to edit or create. Does anybody have some document with a brief
description of the procedure ... like what to do first, what is
essential etc.
