Yes. Right. That was kind of silly wasn't it. I guess I am still
confused as to wheather this is a "compiler" problem, or a "wrong
assembly in the kernel" problem.

Other than applying Dave's patch I was unable to get around it.

I'll be more than happy to try anything you might suggest.
