quick question, gas ppc output format

Hi all,

I have a very quick question on PPC cross gas build:

What is the output format of gas by the ./configure 
--target=powerpc-linux? Does it default to full ELF?

And, anybody knows if there are some equivalent configure 
option explanations for gas like gcc, or they share the 
same options?
