Nick, thanks for the effort.  The readelf output you posted
is indeed correct.

However - the bug is not fixed: I used a current gcc/binutils
(CVS of today) too, and I still get the bug :(.

This is very weird, how is it possible that you don't see the
bug with the current CVS and I do?
