libbfd msdos target

I was wondering if libbfd supports 16bit msdos executables. I tried 
compiling in the msdos target, but when trying to dump an executable I get 
"File format not recognized" from objdump(2.13.90.0.4). Is this a bug, or 
just the lack of support?
