libbfd for cross target II

Hi,

... and I see that it installs libbfd.a under 
'i686-pc-linux-gnu/tic4x/lib'. How can I identify the 
"i686-pc-linux-gnu" string from a shellscript or Makefile?

When I make a custom host application that needs the target libbfd.a, I 
need to do a "-L$(TIC4X_PREFIX)/$(HOST)/tic4x/lib -lbfd" on it. How can 
I set $(HOST) automagically? AFAICS uname does not reveal adequate 
infomation to compile this string.
