Yes please.  Also if the patch is quite larger, please split it up
into several emails (eg one per top-level directory) so that people's
email systems are not swamped.

When adding a new port it is also nice if you can include a patch to
gas/NEWS mentioning the port, plus a set of GAS test cases for the new
port.  Also if the gas port includes any target specific features or
command line switches they should be documented in
gas/doc/c-<name>.texi.

Also note that any changes to the top level configure or Makefiles (eg
config.sub) need seperate approval - please check the top level
MAINTAINERS file.
