The SB-1 core implements a subset of the MDMX instruction set
(specifically, the .ob instructions).
My hope was to get the generic MDMX changes in and then add the "SB1"
flag to the appropriate instructions so that they're usable when
assembling for SB-1.
My thought was that that strategy would be easier and saner (and less
likely to cause breakage in the future 8-) than having somebody try to
merge the two sets of instructions at some later point in time.
