Yes.

The problem will only be seen by people building on a sparc host with
--enable-shared.  There won't even be any effect on the tools unless
it's a cross-build for windows, and even then the effect is minimal.
The trouble is that the configure error is highly visible.  Depends
on how many bug-reports you want to field.  :)
