Drop the K&R requirement from binutils?

Hello,

Can the K&R requirement be dropped?  (After the 5.3 GDB branch has been 
cut though ;-)

GCC is now allowing ISO C (but under limited circumstances).  GDB is so 
ISO C it isn't funny :-)
