--gc-sections for sh-coff toolchain

Hi !

I am using the --gc-sections feature of ld to remove unused sections in
the final executable code. This feature works fine with sh-elf-ld from
sh-elf toolchain but does nothing for=20
sh-coff-ld in the coff toolchain.

How do I enable it for the sh-coff tool chain ?

I am using gcc-2.95.3, binutils-2.11.2, newlib-1.9.0  for building the
sh-coff and sh-elf tool chains.
