as -gstabs does not work on ia64

Running the ia64 assembler with the -gstabs option fails for predicated
instructions, because it tries to insert generated .stabn insnsn between
the predicate and the actual insn, and ia64_flush_insns then complains
about "qualifying predicate not followed by instruction". Now stabs isn't
actually working in general on 64 bit targets (according to Richard
Henderson on gcc-patches). Should -gstabs be ignored on ia64?
Andreas.
